A lot of research is being done in order to acsertain the cause. The most likely cause seems to be autoimmune as a result of which various parts of the nervous system are damaged. Apart from autoimmune cause other postulated causes are exposure to certain bacteria and viruses, role of genetics and environmental factors. It is important to recognise the signs and symptoms of multiple sclerosis as effective treatment options are available.”
