Lt. Gen. Jagbir Singh

Secretary


Lt. Gen. Jagbir Singh is the Secretary for the group of various Trusts under the Somaiya Umbrella. A graduate of the National Defence Academy he was commissioned in the Indian Army in June 1978. A recipient of four Presidential Awards, he held numerous important appointments during the course of his illustrious
career spanning almost four decades. In addition to combat and command assignments at various levels he has also been involved in the conduct of numerous
studies associated with formulation of strategy, operational concepts, force structuring and transformation of the Army. An alumnus of the National Defence College, New
Delhi, he has been a member of the faculty at the prestigious Defence Services Staff College at Wellington.
In his last assignment in service Lt. Gen. Jagbir Singh had administrative command of the Indian Army in Peninsular India which also included a number of training,
medical and educational establishments. He holds an MPhil Degree in Defence and Strategic Studies from the Madras University.
 

Dr. Varsha Phadke

Dean


Having joined K. J. Somaiya Medical College & Research Centre in the year 1993 as Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Dr Varsha Phadke is now holding the Post of the Dean and Incharge of Medical College, Hospital and Superspeciality Hospital after 27 glorious years at the medical college.  An M.D pediatrician by qualification, she has a keen interest in Pediatric nephrology. She is an astute academician and is also a fellow & faculty of the FAIMER Institute. 

Dr Minu Ramakrishnan

Medical Superintendent


Dr Minu Ramakrishnan joined K J Somaiya Medical College and Research Centre in 2002 as a Senior Resident in the Department of Ophthalmology. 
She went on to become Professor and  Head of Department of Ophthalmology, a post she held for 10 years before being promoted as Medical Superintendent of Somaiya Hospital in April 2022.
She completed her undergraduate and postgraduate studies from Seth GS Medical College and KEM hospital. She has also completed her MBA in Healthcare Services from Sikkim Manipal University (distance education ) in 2013.
She is an active member of the Medical Education Unit and also the Research Cell. Her academic interests include refractive cataract surgery, cornea, ocular surface disorders and medical retina. for which she has undergone training at L V Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad and Aravind Eye Institute, Coimbatore.

   

Dr Manisha Bobade

Chief Executive Officer


Dr Manisha Bobade is a highly accomplished healthcare professional with over three decades of exceptional experience, both nationally and internationally, as a clinician, academic and seasoned hand in healthcare management and operations. Her expertise extends from building strong clinical teams, ensuring outstanding patient experience, community engagement, strategic planning and execution of healthcare projects, and astute financial management. No stranger to the responsibilities of top management, she has held several senior positions in large healthcare organisations and consistently demonstrated excellence as a domain leader.
Throughout her outstanding career, Dr Bobade has been instrumental in driving strategic initiatives in both clinical and healthcare administration. She has served as head of department and consultant in emergency medicine and critical care medicine, and held key leadership positions as CEO and medical director at Apollo Hospitals, director at Fortis Hospitals, and director and head at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Navi Mumbai. Her most recent role was as director and head at DY Patil Hospital, Navi Mumbai.
Dr Manisha Bobade currently holds the position of CEO at KJ Somaiya Hospital and Research Center. As a determined and exuberant leader, she is deeply engaged in planning and implementing initiatives for business transformation and setting future strategy to advance the vision articulated by our Chairman. Her wealth of experience and multi- faceted competencies will significantly contribute to the hospital's continued success and sustained growth. A strong believer in the potential of people, she interacts with clinical and support teams to ensure their professional and personal growth. Together they work towards excellence in patient care, medical education and research, and further the journey of KJ Somaiya Hospital and Research Centre towards becoming a world class institution.
